Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do great things among you. Joshua 3:5

A discussion took Place in our home concerning things you listen to and watch on TV. A little debate occurred that if it didn’t bother you what is the problem? Facts and opinions were given on allowing things in and the effects those can have and you don’t realize it. The deception of the enemy.

After the discussion, it was a little awkward because the understanding wanted to be clear. I prayed and asked God for the right words in this matter and how to handle it. I have been in a time of consecration with the Lord. God has been putting things in my spirit for my family and I was thinking when this issue came up, this wouldn’t be an issue if we were doing these things that have been in my spirit. (Mind You, the Lord hasn’t given me the timing on what’s in my spirit yet).

I go to the washer to take clothes out and put them into the dryer. As I was pulling clothes out, I hear a noise in the washer. Something was in there. I reached in, grabbed what I felt and pulled it out. It was a bottle of anointing oil that had been given to us at Dwelling Place Church International. Jamie Tuttle and Judy Jacobs Tuttle are the lead pastors of this church. The oil that was given to us came from Dalton Georgia from the free-flowing oil Bible. It hit me that our garments had been anointed with this oil. Mine, Tim’s, and Kaeden’s. I said God, “You went before us, before this issue came up tonight and anointed our garments.”

The dryer had an instruction that stood out to me. Be clean before each cycle. Each cycle of life. Each new season we enter into. We are to be cleansed and Holy before the Lord.

In Exodus 19, God said to Moses, “Go to the people. For the next two days get these people ready to meet the Holy God. Have them scrub their clothes so on the third day they’ll be fully prepared, because on the third day God will come down on Mount Sinai and make his presence known to all people. Moses went to the people and prepared them for the Holy meeting. They gave their clothes a good scrubbing.

Did you hear that? They gave their clothes a good scrubbing! “Be clean before each cycle.” They were preparing themselves to meet a Holy God.

God showed me that he had taken care of our concerns before we ever knew there were concerns. I praised him! He was showing me that even though we were hearing things that bothered us, he had already gone before us and anointed our garments. Making them clean, pure and cleansed! I looked up the scripture concerning anointing garments. Listen to what it says; Exodus 29:21, and take some blood from the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments and his sons and their garments. Then he and his sons and their garments will be consecrated.

(Then he and his sons garments WILL BE CONSECRATED). When I read this I said, “Oh God, you are about to do something BIG with this whole family! For you to go before us and anoint our garments you are getting us ready for something BIG!!!

Then I read this scripture in Joshua.

“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua 3:5
What I so loved about all of this is even when I didn’t know that anointing our garments represented consecration, for our entire family, the Lord did! And HE Went before us and did it! That’s how much he loves us and how much he’s taking care of us. This lets me know that all I have to be concerned with is submitting to God and following him. I may not have all the answers but he does and he will take care of what needs to be taken care of.

A time of consecration means setting yourself aside and dedicating yourself to God. When we consecrate ourselves to the Lord, he is readying or preparing us to meet his Holiness. Isn’t that exciting?

God also brought this to my remembrance; The story of the burning bush and Moses. How he had his sandals on and God already knew he would meet him there. Moses had no idea, but in that moment God gave him instruction to take off his sandals. Moses didn’t know to do this beforehand. This is a great lesson for us that all we have to do is submit to God and he will take care of the rest.

He is getting you ready for something BIG! Put your trust completely in him! For tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.
